It rarely stops
Mercy Street (by Peter Gabriel)
Nowhere in the corridors of pale green and grey
nowhere in the suburbs
in the cold light of day
There in the midst of it so alive and alone
words support like bone
Dreaming of mercy street
wear your inside out
dreaming of mercy
It rarely stops
Mercy Street (by Peter Gabriel)
Nowhere in the corridors of pale green and grey
nowhere in the suburbs
in the cold light of day
There in the midst of it so alive and alone
words support like bone
Dreaming of mercy street
wear your inside out
dreaming of mercy

A tribute to givers
YOUR SONG
It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
(Ellie Goulding)

Nice reading and nice songs!
Stole My heart Lyrics
Once upon a time
I saw you walk along
A moonbeam; what a lovely girl.
I followed you around the world.
I love you, don't you see,
You stole my heart in 1-2-3
I love you, yes it's true
You stole my heart
and I'm gonna steal yours too.
Fly me away Lyrics
Silver Moons and paper chains,
Faded maps and shiny things.
You're my favorite one-man show.
A million different ways to go.
Will you fly me away?
Take me away with you,
My love.

GRETA talk
Greta gave me the opportunity to share my enthusiasm for adverts as a resource in ELT/CLIL with a group of teachers in September 2010.
The preparation of this talk has been the spark for the creation of this blog.
All the entries below contain the links and examples I used in the presentation.
It is my intention to go on posting new ideas, links and adverts that I find interesting for teaching language and nonlanguage subjects in Secondary Education.
This is the outline and the bibliography of the presentation.

2. Advertising and the integrated curriculum of languages
3. Advertising and language awareness
4. Slogans: the language of advertising claims
5. The development of communicative competence through advertising: linguistic, sociolinguistic, pragmatic, strategic and sociocultural competences
6. ELT and CLIL
7. Adverts as authentic materials
8. Critical thinking and media literacy
9. Adverts and values
10. Adverts and emotions

Creative advertising webpages
Welcome!
The purpose of this blog is to share ideas, links and examples of adverts that can be useful for teaching English as a Foreign Language (ELT) or other language or nonlanguage subjects of the CLIL curriculum.
Advertising is about...
… calling your attention
… making things attractive and glamorous
… making things memorable
… making you fall in love with something
THESE ARE THE OBJECTIVES OF GOOD TEACHING...
… so there must be a connection between teaching and advertising!
LET'S CHANGE THE GLASSES!!
